Montane Summer Spine Race
Edale, Pennine Way, United Kingdom
TrailMountain
Britain's most brutal endurance race: a non-stop, expedition-style ultra along the entire 268-mile Pennine Way from Edale in the Peak District to Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders. The summer edition follows the same iconic route as the winter Spine — across the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland and the Cheviots — with runners self-navigating and racing through the night. Distances range from the 46-mile Sprint to the full 268-mile Spine (156-hour cut-off, over 10,700 m of ascent).
